Possible Turbo Fault Loss of Power ( Check Injection )
I was running around very happily in this car up to a week ago when all of a sudden it lost Power and up on the Dash came " Check Injection " it wouldn`t ...> do more than about 45 or 50 mph so i took it next morning to my local garage who plugged it into their system and they explained it could be one of a few things ! One it could be the Turbo itself, Two it could be a Sensor in Conjunction with the Turbo or Three it could be something as simple as a Pipe coming Loose from or to the Turbo. I will be totally Honest with you , i am no Mechanic in any way shape or form and i am trying to be as Honest with this description as i possibly can. I truthfully think someone that knows what they are doing with cars will be able to get this sorted for a few hundred quid the problem i had was i needed the car straight away and i wasn`t prepared to drive it with the lack of power. so its only done about ten or fifteen miles since the problem arose. I have declared the car SORN so whoever buys it will need to either collect it on a trailer or with trade plates or chance your arm as it isn`t going to have tax on it ! I am willing to answer any questions anybody may have and will do my best to answer them. I must make it clear that i do have this car advertised locally so if a buyer comes forward then it will be removed from Ebay ! It is in Very Good overall condition with just a couple of very minor marks where cars have opened doors too close. A lovely 6 speed gearbox, Air Con, Power Steering all you would expect of a car of this age. I have pretty much the Full Service History and all previous MOT`s and service paperwork. 4 x very good tyres.Also it comes with 2 x Key/Cards to both open and start the engine, both of which work perfectly. One of the cornerstones of Renault’s Commitment 2009 growth programme was to instil a culture of quality throughout the company. Judging by the results from the Driver Power 2010 surveys in the past few weeks, the company’s efforts are starting to pay real dividends. Proving that its 200-plus dealers are now mirroring the marque’s relentless strides in product quality with their quality of service, this year’s survey shows that Renault has risen a notable 15 places, from 30th in the previous two years, to 15th overall. Posting an overall score of 82.10%, only two per cent short of finishing in the top ten, Renault’s rise has also seen it leapfrog a series of premium brands along the way, including Audi and BMW. Its much-improved score was not achieved simply by means of a few more points in just a couple of categories, as Renault showed gains across the board. In fact, it rose by more than 10 places across every category: Helpfulness and attitude, Standard of workmanship, Value for money, Technical knowledge and Cleanliness and atmosphere. Commenting on Renault’s improvement, Auto Express’ view was unequivocal, “Absolutely superb. That’s the only way to describe the gigantic leap up the Driver Power dealer chart made by Renault this year.” Editor-in-Chief, David Johns, added, “This is an important result for Renault because it is the verdict of the owners of their cars. They are saying quite clearly that the firm, its dealers and its cars have made massive strides in terms of quality and service in the past year. It’s a performance that does Renault huge credit and is one that every other car manufacturer can learn from.” Renault UK’s Managing Director, Roland Bouchara, was unsurprisingly pleased with the latest survey results, “Our dealers have made dramatic improvements to match the great strides of our products. Our progress has been huge.” Nevertheless, in spite of its success, the company is aware that it still has work to do. Mark Crockett, Director, Services and Quality, Renault UK, commented, “Customers were telling us that we needed to try harder. This latest survey result confirms we’re on the right track, but we need to continue to listen to our customers and work hard to ensure we continuously meet their needs. I have a drain on my battery which is happening even when the car is turned off and locked. I've had the problem checked at a local garage and they identified the problem as the Pre-Heater Module, I had the garage replace this and they told me the car was fixed, I paid for the work and took the car home, the next day the car was flat again and this has nor rectified the problem, I contacted the garage to advise them of this and they are adamant that the work has been done, apparently they have not used the correct codes-? (Not sure what that part means). My question is what is the trade price for this part? I am taking my car to two in-dependant garages to check if the work has actually been done and if not I will be contacting trading standards. One is the normal glow plug system used to pre heat the engine for starting and emissions purposes, the other is a system that operates in conjunction with the heating system in one of two ways. One is heating the engine coolant using glow plugs screwed in to a housing in one of the coolant hose's, the other system uses a heating element fitted in to the heater box inside the car, this aids a faster heater warm up inside the car. Both systems use relays to operate and it may be one of those sticking on. If the engine glow plug is sticking on then this would be easily identified by checking to see if the glow plugs have a permanent feed to them when the engine is switched off, if there is this may stem from a wiring fault as the pre heating system is controlled by the engines ecu. Clearly something has gone wrong with their diagnostic and repair procedure and they have charged you to fix your car but have not done so. Put this politely to them and suggest they sort it.
