Renault has stated it is a front ECU fault due to water ingress, and due to the labour charge it would cost £1500 to repair. My wife has used this car everyday since February 2008, she is devastated.The car has various marks and some panel damage, drivers side rear, front bumper and sill passenger side, front drivers seat has a hole in side. But everything works, battery, alternator, replaced water pump, replaced headlight unit, gearbox, tyres, the engine ran beautifully and was never thrashed. It is up for spares or repair, no warranty implied or offered, it is too good to be scrapped and has lots of servicable parts. I was told it needs a short front loom rewire and an ECU, but renault were not being specific enough.When you insert the ignition card(key) everything comes on , doors lock and operate, radio, blowers etc, as soon as you press start it tells you to remove ignition card.. It must be towed away, and We hold no responsibility for those removing it from the premises after purchase. No time wasters please this has been hard enough! traveling. I returned to the UK last month and had intended to keep it and use it day to day but I have since decided to go overseas again. The car was serviced by a local Renault dealer when bought and has just ticked over 47,000 miles. It runs really nicely. Whilst I have owned the car, I have taxed and MOT`d it. I have also given it a good clean. The previous owner was disabled so when taxing it, I had to apply for the taxation class on the V5 to be changed. However, I do have the relevant paperwork to sell the car. A couple of other things to note about the car are:The service light is on The airbag light is onTwo of the electric windows are not workingI am sure that these things are easily rectifiable and, if I was staying in the UK, I would have them sorted. It has all the original handbooks. It is a 130bhp,1.9 DCi, 6 speed non FAP model. Non Fap meaning it doesnt need the expensive service and refills that the FAP models do. It averages between 44 and 47 mpg in town and will quite easily do more than 55mpg on a run. It has the card entry and start/stop system. `Comfort` Windows which open and close with one touch of the button. And all the windows close automatically when the car is locked. All of which work! It has cruise control and a settable speed limiter. A single CD player, which has a lead to attach your Iphone/Ipod or MP3 too. There are controls on the steering wheel for this. It has electrically movable and heated mirrors. It has Air conditioning, It has a rather sizable boot with retractable load cover. There is a plastic load liner in the boot, meaning there are no nasty stains or smells in the boot. There are sunblinds built into the rear doors. It has 16 inch alloy wheels, which where all fitted with new Goodyear tyres about 8,000 miles ago. Every thing on the car works as it should. It isnt a brand new car so does have the odd little blemish, ive shown the 2 worse in the photos, one being a little ding on the rear arch, gained from a car door in a car park. And the other thing being 2 small marks/snags on the headlining. Both of which ive shown in the photos. Other than that it is a very clean and tidy car. MOT expired Feb 2012. Timing Belt changed at 69250 miles by previous owner. Car is in excellent condition inside and out. I bought this car in Feb 2011 to get to work, it ran great until May 2011 when the engine became very noisy from the bottom end and then stopped. I have been told it could be Big Ends. As we had three cars at the time we simp;ly tended to use this car less and it has now been parked up for about a year. | I`ve had a couple of people look at the car, and had a couple of bits changed, specificaly a brand new fuel rail and injectors, also have exchanged many of the minor sensors such as MAP, TDC, Air Temp, Cam Position etc. Whilst this has not cured the problem, interestingly the fault is exactly the same (so perhaps something has been overlooked?), the car will start and run, then as the engine becomes warmer it becomes lumpier and eventually stops. wrong and breezed through it`s latest service earlier this month. It has a service history (last full service in April) and has been really well looked after as you can see from the pictures, there are a few little marks but nothing more than you would resonably expect from a car of this age.
