Being the 2.2 diesel matched to a 6 speed gearbox she delivers around 40mpg around town and its possible taking it easy on a steady motorway run to return 50mpg. This car has extreme levels of comfort only matched by the top executive cars if at all, I have completed 700mile runs in a day and could of easily completed the same again. I have owned Mercedes, Daimlers, Jaguars etc and I believe this car trumps them all!!! There are a huge amounts of electrical gadgets including the normal such as electric windows, power steering, Heated electric leather seats, Electric tilt slide sunshine roof, Cruise control, Speed restrictor, In dash multi disk changer offering a wonderfull quality sound, ESP, ABS, Air Condition, Climate control, Soft close boot system, Auto window sunroof close when using remote central locking, All stereo controls mounted on steering wheel for ease of use, Driving lights, Wheel sensors, Secret cubby holders every where including hidden dash pockets and storage in the dash, soft lined sunglass holder, Drinks holders that disapear into the dash. The car is fitted with a top of the range tow bar having towed my small motorbike trailer behind but would obviousy make a good tow car if someone wished to tow a larger caravan etc. The car does have rear parking sensors that have failed in the last few months I have not had a chance to look at this. until last month when the engine died (Sudden loss of power and a very loud knocking noise). I got the car trailered home and started to strip down the engine, having removed the rocker cover and cam shafts I found one of the inlet valve stems had snapped (See Picture) and the rest of the valve must have fallen into the cylinder, this will have undoubtedly caused considerable damage to the cylinder bore, piston ect.. I can’t be sure of the full extent of the damage as I haven’t removed the cylinder head or sump. As I just don’t have the time or inclination for a full engine rebuild and the tax and MOT have now expired (Currently SORN) I have decided to sell the car for spares or repair. The engine has been partially reassembled and all the parts that were removed have been boxed up and are included in the sale (See Pictures). So just to be clear about the engine condition, although this wasn’t the usual cam belt failure you find with these engines the snapped valve has probably caused just as much damage as a failed cam belt would have. (The engine is non running and will possibly require major work to get it running again). Prior to the engine failure the car had recently had a few new parts fitted: · New battery · New rear shock absorbers · New coil spring and ARB drop link on passenger side A few new parts that I never got around to fitting are also included with the car (see pictures): · New ARB drop link · New Full Cam belt kit · New accessory drive belt · Crank shaft locking pin Known faults / Problems: · About a year ago the mileage display started to read in kilometres and I have no idea how to change it back to miles. · The headlight washers don’t work. · Car will need new front tyres as these are heavily worn and the passenger side one has damage to the inside sidewall caused when the coil spring went. (spring has been replaced) · Will need new front brake pads as these are also heavily worn. · The paintwork has various small scuffs/ marks also it has a very small dent in the passenger door and sticky tape marks on the bonnet and boot where it has had L plates stuck on. · The little cover that goes over the door lock on the passenger side door is missing. · The “Lock” button on the spare key card doesn’t work (The main key card works fine) · Air conditioning needs recharging. · No Tax or MOT.
