cost. THE BAD BIT... The car is a ` Non Runner` at the moment. Sadly it has recently suffered a high pressure fuel pump failure, which for us has rendered it uneconomical to repair. However it would suit someone who is either a mechanic [ or has one in the family ..!! ] We have been advised that it will need either a new or second hand high pressure pump fitted and the fuel system drained and new fuel filter fitted. THE GOOD BIT... It has full service history. The car has 5 good condition tyres. It has recently had a new clutch fitted [ £350.00]. It has 6 months tax and mot left. It only costs £30 per year road tax. It has no rust or damage to the body work, only a couple of minor scratches, nothing for its age and mileage. It has several optional extras... Air con.. Sunroof.. Cd radio with steering wheel controls.. Electric windows..Driver and passenger airbags.. Power Steering.. ... on the way.. 2004 04 reg, which has covered 93500 miles, as you can see from the pictures, its in exelent condition.. It is MOT till feb 2013, so recentley been done, and taxed till end of march 2012.. There is no nasty dents and only 1 little scratch to front bumper but nothing serious.. The interior is showing very little wear, including the steering wheel.. The wheels are in average condition, and a fair bit of tred on the tyres.. Cambelt was changed at 74k miles, so no worries there, aircon recentley re-gased.. This car is totally standard and not been trashed and bashed..!! Very very fun to drive and very nippy, but good on MPG if driven sensibly, high 30 easy.. The mileage may increase due to still using it, not by alot tho.. this car purely because I can`t afford it on my part time job any more, and I will not need a car when I go to university. I bought this in August 2011, and it is MOT`d til the end of July, and the tax runs out in August (taxed as disabled). the car is exactly how it was when I bought it bar one minor fault; The connection between the downpipe from the engine, and the main exhaust system isn`t tight together, resulting in the exhaust blowing. This does not change anything mechanically with the car and isn`t a problem, but I have been quoted that it would only cost about a max of £40 to sort this, if a new downpipe was needed. Everything else on the car is how it was - working absolutely perfectly with just a slight rust on the sills, broken central locking and about a 4inch small dent on the bonnet. I have recently bought a new CD player for £40 which I bought in December 2011. Also, just before I bought the car there had been a brand new exhaust system fitted for the MOT, and there is also a K&N sports air filter. The parcel shelf has two fantastic speakers fitted in, all wired in correctly and can easily be taken out if they aren`t wanted. I have also changed the bulbs in the front lights, giving a white/blue light instead of the standard yellow light. The final change is that the car has 2 brand new handbrake cables fitted, and it recently had the rear left brake chamber replaced totalling £181.There are also alloy wheels which were already fitted when I bought the car, and some steel sport foot pedals. People are welcome to view the car and inspect the engine etc, but please no time wasters, I just want rid of the car so I can begin sorting everything else out ready for university. We are currently having our whole house redecorated, and a lot of things we had in here are in storage, which is where the main V5 document is. I have the slip which both parties sign and send off when they have sold/bought a car so there are no major issues here. The original Renault documentation and log book/service history however is locked up in storage, and if this car sells before we manage to find them, I will happily send them to an address if you wish to have them. (80 miles a day!) I need a larger, more comfortable diesel car, which is why I have to sell this. It`s not particularly bad on fuel - I`m getting and average 35mpg on the trip computer, but need something that does nearer 60mpg. The cars in really good condition and drives great. It has 6 months MOT, 6 months tax, has done 86,000 miles (15,000 of which in the last 6 months - hence the need to get a big motorway diesel car). Since I have had it I have put 4 new tyres on it, brakes all round, wheel bearings and track rod ends, so it wont need these replacing for a good while. Around 6 weeks ago I changed the oil and oil filter and also drained the water system and refilled with fresh water and antifreeze. The car has not had any modifications other than bigger drilled and grooved disks on the front and uprated brake pads. Everything else is original. The only bad points are the wheels have some bubbling on in places and could ideally do with a refurb (but as the pictures show, they are not very noticable) and the windscreen has a scratch on it. But apart from that the car is fine. This version of the Renault Clio is the 172 CUP. It has 172bhp. The Cup version is the top-end clio and was used for racing in the Renault Clio Cup from 2000 to 2001, so has a racing pedigree and is different in many ways from the standard Clio 172. It has the 16 Speedline Turini alloy wheels, re-styled rear spoiler, front splitter, different interior, and different suspension geometry which handles much better than a standard 172. It has also had many weight saving made on it to increase the power to weight ratio. All these changes make it very different, faster and better handling. The car is priced to sell. (the car).She is selling to finance a newer, model lower mileage, renaultsport clio, but will be sad to see the car go, as it has been without trouble for the last 6 years.The car has been serviced annually since 2007 as per the handbook. First 3 stamps are Renault dealer, the later ones have been carried out by local Renault specialists.The important 5 year full service was carried out on 05/05/2009, including the Timing belt/Aux belt change, spark plugs etc.. This was by a former Renault technician in a local garage, using original manufacture parts.Most if not all of the original receipts are available for inspection to verify the above.All the old MOT`s are present to confirm the mileage is genuine. The original handbook, service book and still kept in the Renault leather wallet, complete with both keys.The front tyres were newly fitted in December and rears have plenty of life in them. All are Michelin Pilot Sports, which the Renault fitted on new 182`s.To pass the last MOT (2011) the exhaust system was replaced with a RS192 Scorpian system. The original Renault middle section was corroded and the rear section was nearing the end of it`s life so it was more cost effective to change both.The Scorpion system was selected as it was manufactued from Stainless steel and it wasn`t too loud and droning when driving the car on the motorway. It has a nice sound without annoying the neighbours. The cat has been retained in the system.During the life of the car both Front & Rear brake discs and pads have been changed, the car gets an easy commute 4 days a week 20 miles each way, so gets less wear and tear than town driving.Generally the car is in very good condition, but it is nearly 8 years old so usual signs of use are there, a few car park dents, few marks on the alloy wheels, small stone chips on bonnet, nothing that needs highlighting.The interior is also very good, the Half leather/alcantera seats age very well and look very good, there are no holes or tears, and the car has only taking rear passengers a handful of times.There are a few jobs that could be done to the car to make it near perfect.For the asking price (ono) the car will come with 12 months MOT, which is now due, and 6 months tax from March 1st.Viewings and inspections are welcome, the car can be viewed at TA6 or TA1 depending on the day/time. Air bag and service light are on which is a common fault on Clios of this age. It is something to do with the wiring loom underneath the passenger seat apparently which could be as simple as soldering a wire or two but plenty of advice online. Spent most of it`s life kept in the garage between journeys so paintwork is great, very shiny! Bodywork is fantastic apart from two fist sized dents, one on the tailgate and one on the drivers side rear panel (see pictures) due to the previous, elderly owner. Of course you will find the odd age related mark but none of this affects the overall appearance of the car. Interior is excellent, like a time warp! the other Clio’s of it’s era the Williams was fitted with the F7R 2.0L 16v engine that produces around 145-150 BHP. I am a huge retro French hot hatch can fan and have owned both a 205 GTI and 5 turbo over the years and this Clio Williams is definitely been my favourite to own with it having (in my opinion) better build quality, comfort, fuel economy and reliability than equivalents, yet it still retains the raw “go cart” driving experience that you often loose with the modern cars of today.About the car.The car has covered 106k miles and has stamped history up to 50k, thereon after there is limited history but I have serviced the car myself and all receipts are available, its also fitted with iridium spark plugs. I know one of the previous owners who informed me that he serviced the car himself he also had the cam belt changed when the car had covered around 90-95k, unfortunately there is no proof of this job but I was more than happy to take a close friends word on this. on inspection you get a feeling the car has been well cared for in life.It has the Original owners booklet/wallet.It has an MOT until June 2012 and Taxed up to July 2012The only modifications are a KnN induction filter a magnex back box, the car is also lowered slightly. It is also fitted with a working Toad alarm/immob but I have no paperwork for this. The car is otherwise how Mr Renaultsport intended.The interior is in excellent condition, I would say for age but it really is like a 3 year old car inside as you can see.The engine is sweet as a nut, pulls really well, no nasty noises or smoke. In the last year I have fitted new brakes all round, serviced and fitted with a new cat.Ok to the Bad points:This is not in showroom condition as it’s a 18 year old French hot hatch so it does have the odd mark on the paintwork. (I will not advertise a car as mint like some on Ebay when it’s obviously not!)The rear boot hatch has unfortunately fell victim to the famous MK1 Clio boot rust syndrome, it’s not past recovery but does need attention in the future.All four Alloy wheels could do with a recon.The dash water temp gauge wavers up and down very slightly (About 1/8th of the gauge, It always has!?!). I’m unsure if this is normal for a Clio Williams but I have fitted a new stat and bled the system with fresh antifreeze and its still the same. I believe this to be a faulty temperature sensor as the engine without doubt has no issues with cooling or nasty head gasket failure .The rear bumper has some of the trim missing at the end (photo) Again I have no idea how this has happened but I picked up a good second hand bumper to replace it but never got round to doing it. The bumper can come with the car if requested, it does need spraying to be perfect.The rear engine mount “dogbone” bush need replacing. I don’t know why but Clio Williams’s (and 172`s) eat these for breakfast. A better replacement polybush version is available on Ebay for 38 pounds. (A very simple DIY job)Passenger side central locking solenoid does not work, well it sometimes works! So what you see is what you get, she truly is a great, very clean, respectable car so please don’t be put off if I’ve sounded cynical about her (as I am picky) viewing is recommended. This has been my daily driver for the past year + and has never let me down (besides the battery). I have been a proud and keen owner you always get a respectful nod off a fellow petrol head or someone wanting to start a conversation with you about the car.I hope she can go to a good enthusiast’s home and be turned back to a minter with the little effort and TLC she deserves. Believe me If I had the space I would garage her do the above and keep her for summers best.A true future classic that will only increase in price! please no silly offers!
